Like precious faith!

Like precious faith!
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

II Peter 1:1
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

Don't pray for faith. Don't beg for faith. Don't fast for faith. If you are born again, you have the faith of God.

God's faith is in every born again child of God. This verse says, we have obtained like precious -same and equal- faith by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. You have the faith of God. Acknowledge this new creation reality and celebrate it with praise and thanksgiving. Feed your faith with God's word for the word of God is faith food. Use your faith by speaking God's word.

You have God's faith in you because like Jesus himself, you are born of the seed of God, which is the word of God. You can please God all the time and you can live in victory all the days of your life because you have the faith of Jesus in you. Acknowledge. Feed. Use. Everything is possible for faith. Go on with Jesus! Never quit! Never give up!

The power of humility!

The power of humility!
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

I Peter 5:6
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time

This verse gives two parts. Your part and God's part. Many a times, we reverse the roles by ignoring our parts and trying to do God's part. You humble yourself in the sight of God (not in the eyes of men) and God will exalt and promote you in due time.

Humility is powerful. What does it mean to humble yourself? It means to bring low or to make low. Bible humility means to bring yourself under God - bringing your thoughts, words and actions under God - to His word - with an undeniable reverence and love for God.

Humility doesn't just happen. It's a response to what you know and believe in your heart. When you know and believe that without God you are nothing and you can do nothing and that His word is first and final, you begin to humble yourself under God. When you know that He is responsible for you and loves you unconditionally, you humble yourself under Him. Humility is an attitude and as you humble yourself, God will promote and exalt you to the very summit of opulence and prosperity. This is your time. Go on with Jesus!

We are one!

We are one!
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

I Peter 3:8
Finally, all of  you  be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;

The church is the body of Christ. We are one body with many members. Many members but one body with Jesus as the head of this body.

Division is easy, unity is work. Satan is the spirit of division and He works really hard to divide the body and the Scriptures says, any house or kingdom that is divided against itself cannot stand. Have great honour and respect for every member in the body of Christ irrespective of their colour, gender, background, education status or their financial status. For in Christ, all of us are one. Don't judge the members, don't be harsh and disrespectful towards them. Love them. Love covers a multitude of sins and Love does no harm to it's neighbor. Glory to God.

The body has many members in different places with different functions. Their place and their work is appointed and ordained by God. Together we can accomplish much for the Lord Jesus Christ. Let's have compassion for other believers because Jesus had compassion on us. Let's be kind and courteous for Jesus was and is kind and courteous towards us. We love because He first loved us. Know who you are! Be a blessing to the body of Christ for we are one!

Good days!

Good days!
- Ashish Mathews

1 Peter 3:10‭-‬11
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.  They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.

You can have good days all your life. Many people including believers think good days are just accidental, happens for some and never for others. Well, you can have good days on purpose, it's your choice! This verse gives the key of having a life filled with good days.

To be born again, that is to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour is the first step in living the good life that the Lord has for you. Your mouth - the words you speak will decide what kind of life you will see in your earth walk. The quality of your words will be the quality of your life. Speak the word of God, for the word of God is life. As you speak life, you will see life and enjoy life. Life and death is in the power of your tongue.

Fear God - hate what the Lord hates and love what the Lord loves. As you do these things, you will see good days and you will begin to enjoy the abundant life. You are not waiting for good days. Good days are waiting for you. Start now! This is your time!

Be holy, for I am holy

Be holy, for I am holy.
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

I Peter 1:15‭-‬16
but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

We are commanded in this scripture to be holy in all our conduct and behaviour. The word holy simply means to be seperate - separate from sin and seperate from the world. There is no common ground between us and sin, between us and the ways of this world.

The church loses its power the moment she becomes common and familiar with the world. We are called out from this world. We are in this world but we are not of it, we don't belong to this world. You don't live holy to become holy. You live holy because you are holy and sanctified in Christ.

The one who called you is holy. The one who lives in you is holy. Without holiness, you cannot see the Lord, you cannot walk with the Lord and you cannot work for the Lord. The Holy Spirit living in you is proof that you are holy and sanctified. He gives you the ability to live a holy life so He can use you and work through you. 'Be holy, for I am holy', says the Lord.

The end is near.

The end is near.
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

I Peter 4:7
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

The time is short, Jesus is coming back. We are living in the last of the last days and the Bible says, the love of many will grow cold - the love for Jesus and for the things of God will grow cold.

Stay in the fire of God's word. Stay in the fire of God's presence by being serious and watchful in your prayers. Stay in the fire of fellowship by faithfully attending church services. Prayer simply means having fellowship with Jesus. Do not let anything steal your prayer time or distract you from moving up in your prayer life. Seek to go deeper in your prayer life.

Always keep your prayer time with Jesus. Be around people who are spiritual so that they will keep your fire burning. Word based prayer is the foundation of success in every area of life. Be serious about your prayer life. Do not let it slip out of your hands.  Be watchful about your prayer life. The end is near!

Desire to grow!

Desire to grow!
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

I Peter 2:2
as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.

Once you are born in the family of God, you need to grow in the things of God. Babies cannot and will not do anything for the kingdom of God. Desire to grow!

Just like a new born baby craves for the mother's milk, we are to crave the pure milk of God's word so we can grow in the things of God. The word of God is spirit food. The word feeds you. The word builds you. The word sustains you. As believers, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. The word is your growth. There is so much more in the word. The word is so rich.

Refuse to be a baby. Refuse to be stagnant. Grow by feeding consistently on God's word. Hear the word. Study the word. Meditate on the word. Speak the word. Do the word. Keep ever growing and ever progressing in the kingdom of God. Be a blessing for many. This is your time.
