The sacrifice of praise.

Hebrews 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Under the new covenant, Jesus by sacrificing Himself has made us priests of the Most High God. As a priest of God, you serve Him, represent Him and reveal Him. It's a huge responsibility and an awesome privilege that God has given us.

As priests of the Most High God, we offer spiritual sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ. This verse talks about the sacrifice of praise. To praise simply means to speak good things about some one. David said, I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Praising God is a decision. Paul and Silas were beaten with rods, their clothes were torn and they were put in prison for living and preaching the Gospel. Naturally speaking, in such unjust circumstances your mind, your feelings and your body don't want to praise God. But Paul and Silas instead of complaining, grumbling and blaming the world, started praising God and singing songs. This is the sacrifice of praise. In the midst of darkness, you praise God for his goodness, in the midst of chaos, you praise God because He is a God of order. You don't feel like praising God, you don't want to praise God but you choose to praise God by faith. Praise is our weapon. We don't fight like the world fights, we fight differently and we fight with spiritual weapons which are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Offer to God the sacrifice of praise. He is well pleased with such sacrifices.

Friend, when Paul and Silas offered to God the sacrifice of praise, God showed up and there was an earthquake, bonds were broken and people got saved. Hallelujah. Your praise is Gods throne because God enthrones and inhabits the praises of His people. Refuse to complain, refuse to grumble, refuse to blame, refuse to lean on your understanding or on flesh and blood, start praising God and prepare a throne for Him through your praise. His presence makes all the difference. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
