Give your heart.

Mark 12.41
Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury and many who were rich put in much.

Jesus is the manifested will of God in action. He sat opposite to the treasury and saw how people gave offerings. Notice the bible says 'How'. Jesus was not interested in the amount but rather in the motive and attitude of the giver.

Man looks on the outside but God looks on the heart.  When Mary anointed the feet of Jesus with an expensive perfume Judas said it was a waste and it should have been sold and money given to the poor. On the outside it looked as if Judas was really concerned about the poor, but in reality he was a thief and wanted to steal that money. For God your heart is very important. Your motive, your attitude and your reason for doing things. Jesus said in John, the Father is seeking true worshippers who will worship him in spirit and in truth. He said about the religious people, they honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.

Cain and Abel both offered to God but Abel was accepted and Cain wasn't. Abel gave his first and best to God that shows his reverence for God and his kingdom whereas Cain gave his last and worst which expresses the level of respect  he had for God . The word says Let each one give as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or by compulsion or under pressure, for God loves a cheerful giver. When we get a revelation of how much God loves us and of all that he has done for us, giving to God then becomes an honour and a privilege and never a burden. Whatever you do for God, do it with all of your heart in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah.

One thing is needed.

Mark 1.38
But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”

--> Jesus was a man of purpose, a man of focus, completely focused on his God given purpose. Everything he did was in line with and for the fulfilment of his purpose. He never did anything that was against his purpose or wasn't contributing to his purpose. His purpose coloured everything he said and did in his lifetime.

Jesus said to Martha that she was troubled and worried about many things but only one thing is needed and Mary has chosen the good part and it won't be taken from her. We need to be people of one thing. We must be totally and completely focused on our God given purpose. We must never allow Gods purpose to be replaced by 'where I get the maximum money' or 'where I get the most attention' or 'where I am the most comfortable'. Proverbs says many are the plans in a mans heart but its the Lords purpose that will prevail. As you discover your God given purpose and indulge in fulfilling it, you will be disciplined and self controlled. Purpose makes you a disciplined person. You are careful where you go, what you talk, to whom you talk, what friends you have, how you use your time, what shows you watch. Purpose makes you a very focused person. It makes you a very disciplined person.

Paul said walk worthy of the calling you have received. We can easily do so by looking to Jesus, our standard and by the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Choose purpose over popularity and publicity. Choose purpose over majority. Choose purpose over money.  Choose purpose over the comforts of life. Your God given purpose, your vision will elevate to a higher life, a disciplined life, a glorious life that will bless humanity and bring glory and honour to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Shalom

Matthew 24.27
For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Jesus is coming back very soon. We are living in the last of the last days. His first coming was for sinners but his second coming is for those who are eagerly waiting for him by living a life worthy of Him.

Revelation 1. 7 says ...every eye will see him even those who pierced him. This means no one will miss his coming. No matter where a person is or what time of the day it is, no one will miss out on seeing the second coming of Jesus Christ.  Its important we understand this and if you haven't accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, I encourage you to do so right now in accordance with Romans 10. 9, 10 'that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.' Jesus is coming back!

Jesus said many will come and say here is the Christ and there is the Christ. He also said many false prophets and teachers will rise and say 'I am the Christ' and will show many signs and wonders to decieve believers. He warned us to be careful and remain rooted and grounded on the word of God. His coming will be so spectacular and glorious that it wont need any advertisement, introduction or publicity. I pray that every one who reads this will not only see Him coming but also ride on His rapture train and be with him forever and ever. Amen. Shalom.

"I live a life worthy of the Lord. My Lord is coming back soon and I am ready for His second coming. As I wait expectantly, I prepare myself, as a bride prepares for her bridegroom, in the word, in prayer and in fulfilling my assignment. Come, Lord Jesus."

Pay the price.

Matthew 20.22
But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him, “We are able.”

--> Jesus said this in response to the mother of James and John when she asked for places of honour for her boys. Jesus responded by saying there is a price to pay. A cup to drink and a baptism to be baptised with.

Every believer has to pay the price. Many want places of honour but not many want to pay the price. Jesus said to his followers, If anyone desires to follow me, he must deny himself, carry his cross and follow me. For he who saves his life will lose it and he who loses his life for my sake and the gospel will save it. Self sacrifice for God is the pathway to greatness.

Jesus said I have not come to do my will but the will of the Father who sent me. At the garden of Gethsamane he said, Father, not my will but yours be done. *Every great accomplishment today is a result of a great price*. We need to take up Gods agenda, His will and His vision and be fully committed to it. We must spend time in prayer and in the word, keeping our desires, passions and agenda aside for the glory of the one who loved us and died for us. Paying the price is not easy but nothing great happens without sacrifice. Selfishness is the biggest enemy of greatness.

I encourage you to discover your God given purpose and fully immerse yourself in fulfilling it. Invest your time, energy and money into it. As you pay the price in fulfilling the work and the assignments that God has given you, you will be fulfilled and satisfied. Just like Jesus said, The son of man didn't come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. Remember, there is a cup to drink and a baptism to be baptised with.  There is a price to pay. There is a cost to bear. You will get it done by the power of the Holy Spirit. Shalom

Your Mighty Helper.

Luke 12. 11,12
Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

--> Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to help us in every area of our lives. He said i won't leave you as orphans i will come to you through the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Counsellor, Strengthener, Standy, Intercessor and Advocate. He lives in everyone who has received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Once you realise who's in you, you will have a different outlook towards life. I call it the winning attitude. John said Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world. Be conscious of the Spirit of God in you today and yield to him in everything you do, He will make you a complete success.

The Holy Spirit gives you power to be a witness and to witness the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His only objective is to help you think, talk and act like Jesus. Your success is his goal. He will guide you, teach you, lead you, show you things to come. Rely on him. Expect these things from Him because Jesus said so. Remember, its not by might, nor by power, but by the Holy Spirit. Shalom.

The power is in God's word.

The power is in God's word.
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

Mark 12.24
Jesus answered and said to them, Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not now the scriptures nor the power of God?

The word of God is the power of God. The reason the Sadducees didn't experience God's miracle working power because they didn't know his word. Religion gives more importance to the commandments of men rather than the commandments of God. In another place, Jesus said by your traditions, you make the word of God of no effect. Man made traditions will block the work of God's word.

The word of God is full of God's life, God's power and God's wisdom. One word from God can change your life forever. It was one word "Come" from the Master and Peter defied the law of gravity and walked on water. Thats powerful! His word is powerful.

Be a consistent hearer and doer of God's word. We change our lifestyle to fit the word and never change the word to fit our lifestyle. The word is first and final. God is searching for people who are fully committed to him and his word so that He can manifest his resurrection power through them and meet the needs of the dying world. Break all traditions and follow the word of the living God. Let nothing hold you back. Shine! Believe! Speak! Love!

"If God said it, then thats what i am going to do. His word is first place and final authority in my life. Hallelujah."

Life Redefined.

Life Redefined.
- Pastor Ashish Mathews

Luke 12.15
And He said to them, Take heed and beware of covetousness for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.

Jesus said, Life is not defined, measured or secured by the things you have or own, whether you have little or much. The world seeks value and security in things. No wonder they keep running after it all the day long. They believe - the more things they have, the more valuable and secure they are. Jesus redined life. Hallelujah.

The word says, What will it profit you if you gain the whole world and yet forfeit your soul? Our value and security is not based on possessions - how much or how less we have. Notice that is not to say that we are not to have things. We are the seed of Abraham. We are supposed to prosperous in every area of our life. Jesus said seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will he added to you. So you see God is not against us having things and being prosperous. This is your value - God gave up His Son for you and Jesus loves you. Our life is not defined, derived,  measured or secured by clothes, houses, vehicles or the things we have. Our value is not derived from physical things. Life, is knowing who we are in the sight of God and doing everything he wants us to do. This gives life meaning, value and security.

You are His masterpiece created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which he prepared beforehand so you would walk in them. As you grow in the knowledge of His love and in the knowledge of who you are in Christ and as you totally committ yourself in fulfilling your God given assignment, you will find fulfilment, satisfaction, security and life. Jesus said, he who saves his life will lose it but he who loses his life for my sake and the gospel will find it. Live a higher life. Shalom.

“I am valuable because Jesus loves me and He gave up His life for me. This is my worth. Hallelujah. My value or security is not based how much or how less clothes, money or property I have. Jesus is my life and therefore I am valuable, secure and successful. I live the higher life.”
