Don't despise the mustard seed.
- Pastor Ashish Mathews
Mark 4:31
The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth;
Nothing in the kingdom of God starts big. Everything in the kingdom of God starts with a seed. A mustard seed is so small, yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes great and the birds of the air can rest on its branches.
Do not despise small beginnings. Joseph came into Egypt as a slave. Jesus was born in a manger. David had five stones and a sling. Goliath laughed and mocked David but we know the result. Don't see the start as the world sees it, see the start as God sees it. When you make a decision to be faithful where you are and serve God with what you have, you will see supernatural progress. Remember, Small is Big when its put in the hand of God. When the boy gave his lunch of five loaves and two fishes to Jesus, the crowd of more than five thousand people were satisfied with twelve baskets remaining. When Jesus saw the small lunch, I am glad He didn't say "What are we going to do with so little, this is insignificant and absolutely nothing". You know what He said? He said, 'Make the people sit down in groups' Glory to God.
Friend, small is big with God. Start where you are and with what you have for kingdom expansion. As you invest what you have, Jesus said, when the mustard seed is sown, it grows up and becomes BIG and the birds of the air rest on it. Job 8.7 says, 'Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.' Celebrate the small because you are on your way to the Big. This is your time!
