What is my calling?
- Pastor Ashish Mathews
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Paul's first question to Jesus was, Who are you, Lord? and his second question was, What do you want me to do? Every person who loves Jesus wants to do something for Him. When you know how much Jesus has done for you, you want to do all that you can to serve Him and to bring Him glory through your life.
According to this verse, before you came into the earth, the Lord prepared your good works, your calling. Before Adam came, the garden of Eden was ready. If your calling wasn't ready, you wouldn't be born. You birth is proof that God has already prepared the good works you are supposed to walk in. God has given you a specific place in the body of Christ and a specific calling. Every believer has a place and a calling. No one is without a place and a calling. You were not born to make a calling, you were born to discover your calling, get in it, stay in it and bless the body of Christ and the world. Romans 11.29 says, The calling and gifts of God are irrevocable. Acknowledge that you are called by God and abide with the One who has called you. Your purpose can only be revealed by your Maker. As you stay connected to the Lord, He will reveal your purpose and you will enjoy each step of the way. Abiding in the Lord gives you clarity, direction, revelation and peace.
Friend, Joseph was called by God to be the prime minister of the world's most powerful country. But he didn't start at the throne. He started with His father's sheep and He was faithful. He was taken to Potiphars house, He was faithful. He was thrown in the prison and He was faithful there too. And finally He became the prime minister of Egypt. *He took every step as if that was his calling and served God no matter where he was and with what He had.* Where are you today? What do you have? Have a good attitude! Stay connected to Him and start serving Him, serve the body of Christ and as you do, you will begin to see yourself walking in the high and holy calling that God has for you. This is your time.
