All or none.
- Pastor Ashish Mathews
Mark 10.50
And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.
Jesus and his diciples came to Jericho and while passing by, blind Bartimaeus, who was a beggar heard about Jesus and started shouting, 'Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me'. Jesus called the man to come to him. Notice as Bartimaeus was coming to Jesus, He threw aside his garment. This is very significant.
His garment was actually a coat which identified him as underprivileged person in the society. It identified him as a genuine blind beggar so people could give alms to him. That coat meant everything to him. It was his source, his life dependent on it. Yet when Jesus called him, he threw it aside. This shows that Bartimaeus gave and surrendered his entire heart to Jesus even before he was healed. By calling Jesus the Son of David, he believed that Jesus was the Messiah and responded to this new found revelation by making Jesus his only source. Notice he didn't do it after he was healed. He didn't play it safe. He didn't take his coat along when Jesus called him, thinking what if nothing happened.
Like Bartimaeus, give your heart wholly to Jesus. Trust him completely and fully. Make him your source. Throw aside everything that's keeping you from giving you entire heart to Jesus. He will meet all your expectations and beyond. He will never disappoint or fail you. You can trust him. Once you give your heart fully to Jesus, you will see his glory in every area of your life. Those who look to Him as their one and only source will be radiant and they will never be covered with shame. Never. Hallelujah.
"I trust the Lord fully and depend on Him completely. Like Bartimaeus, I make Jesus my one and only Source. Jesus is enough for me and He takes care of me. I trust Him and I do what He says and therefore I always succeed and my life is an example for every nation on earth."
